There was a discrepancy in the blood work that we had drawn for her when we went to her doctor. His lab reported her platelet count still at 44,000--which was the same as she had by his lab two weeks before.
First, I was assured by the nurse and the doctor that is a great sign that it held the same and didn't fall. Second, the doctor wasn't sure why they difference in numbers between one lab and the other, and didn't seem the least concerned. But we will go by his numbers, so her platelet count is still in the 40,000 range. They do not treat unless it drops below 20,000. He was a different doctor than the first we saw (both have been great!) and I explained our plans and date of leaving, and he smiled and said, "Great! I'll see her back in two weeks and we'll get her ready for an exciting life in Costa Rica and Honduras!"
Thank you for your prayers!
